About

The idea for Knit & Breathe retreats surfaced in 2016. Over coffee and ginger tea, we imagined how wonderful it would be to spend an entire weekend just…knitting. Eating. Chatting. Knitting. Laughing. Maybe a bit of yoga if we felt up to it.

We realised that if we were excited at the thought of it, other people like us – like you – would be too.

And then the prospect of creating escapes for kindred spirits became even more compelling than just running off together for the weekend. So now, that’s what we do:

We devote ourselves to finding breathtaking locations, and then whisk small groups of like-minded people away.

We combine beautiful surroundings, knitting workshops, delicious food, and unstructured time with different ways for you to relax and feel in flow – forest walks, soothing massage sessions, or perhaps some gentle yoga practice.

This blend creates peaceful escapes for you to connect and unwind. Where you can indulge yourself, doing what you enjoy with friends (old and new), and have some time to just…breathe.

We have put together a few questions and their answers. You’re also welcome to contact us!

Beth

Beth

Beth is the emerging designer behind the knitting patterns for Bows and Arrows, and she leads the knitting workshops on our retreats. Her trademark is discovering new ways to create a sophisticated and polished finish to her knitting projects and patterns, and her belief that “there’s always a better way” is unwavering. She brings those better ways to the Knit and Breathe retreats, accompanied by her carefully designed and easy-to-follow workshop notes that you’ll use over and over again.

After leaving the business world to focus on motherhood, she tries to steal time between school runs and the general busy-ness of life to knit. (There’s never enough) She’s constantly searching for the perfect pattern, the perfect yarn, and the perfect finish. And more time to knit.

Nina

Nina

Trained as an Integral Hatha yoga teacher, Nina brings the softness and alignment into the yoga class. Classes are based on the principles of Ayurveda to take you on a journey to a state of inner peacefulness and balance.

Over the years, Nina’s love for yoga and the very many different forms it comes in has led her to experience yoga and anatomy classes and workshops with local and international teachers. All these teachings have influenced her to create her own unique style, with focus on asanas, pranayama, and yoga nidra in each class.

Nina’s fresh approach to the ancient mind-body discipline means a collaboration between the western mind and the eastern body; the esoteric and the scientific, as well as between the different yoga styles and techniques.  Her yoga journey continues each and every day in which ever form it manifests opening the space for new opportunities, growth, and understanding so that it may be shared and experienced by others too.
